    hey guys, more or less first time poster in here, did a couple searches but couldn't find what I'm looking for...
    I worked out for a few months in grade 11, and 2 years later I really feel like I need to get back into it because I want to keep healthy, look good, feel good, and I'm in a good mood the rest of the day after I work out.
    My question is: is it important to do regular leg workouts if I plan on building strength and mass in my upper body? I don't want to risk damaging joints in the long run. I'm returning to university in the fall and will be doing good amounts of biking (10k a few days a week), as well as hopefully getting a good HIIT program going to maintain overall health and cardio. silly as it sounds, the reason I ask is because I simply have too many pants that wouldn't fit if I increased the size of my legs, and being a university student for the next few years I don't want to have to replace lots of clothing.
    Would regular biking and running be enough to keep my legs in shape while I work out my upper body or is it totally necessary to include legs in my workout? I'm not planning on putting on huge amounts of muscle, so it this maybe something I'm worrying about more than I need to?
    thanks, sorry if I shouldn't have made a new thread for this :hsd:

    yes.

    a)you'll looked like a tool with chicken legs & muscular upper body

    b)if you're worried about your joints, don't run, especially if you have a lot of upper body mass

    c)
    legs = large muscles
    working large muscles = large amount of GH release
    large amount of GH release = more muscle growth in all area's that have or will be worked in +/- a day or 2

    Dib, do them, but don't worry about increasing mass. Throw in squats during one workout and lunges in another. You'll be working them out and you won't be putting on enough mass to mess up your fits on your fh's and sammies, etc.

    And if you do notice tighter fits, then pull it back some.

    I was born with the smallest legs/calves ever so I really never had a choice. Not working out your legs even if they are already good size is still a MISTAKE. Your legs are your largest muscle in your body and you can burn mad calories and release that free test. Besides who doesn't want the quadzilla?

    Walking to my car in the mornings and then getting out of it and walking back into it throughout my day is enough for my legs.

    It's a must have to keep the wheels in shape so not to injure them on the ice or slopes.

    I honestly don't understand how a workout routine is complete without squats
