I have a shared hosting package on Hostgator. I currently run a small forum w/ ~users, and maybe 2-10 ppl on at a time. If I were to run another couple sites w/ forums, would that be pushing it? I hardly use any of the bandwidth allotted per month, maybe 6gb w/ the traffic from the one forum. Anyone know?

Host gator (from what I've heard) are fags about their CPU usage (i.e. hosting large files such as pr0n for OTers)

If you're using hardly any of the allotted bandwidth, you should be good.

    :dunno:

you'll whistle a different tune if(and when) they screw you over somehow.

they've screwed me over, then they've hooked me up big time.. screwed me over a couple more times, and hooked me up a few more times.

    they're kinda like womens.

If you get to where you're going to have 50-100 people online at once, I'd say it's time to upgrade.. 'cause that's just more word of mouth that can happen.

Even if it's only 5 members but still 50 guests or more.

I'm on a dedicated and from the looks of it, I need a better server now. :mamoru:

wait till someone diggs a thread and you have 500 people viewing the exact same page at once.

my forums are pretty fast when it's anything below 200 and they're all browsing randomly.. anything above 200, especially if on the same thread = catastrophe. :squint:

unless your host is something badass.

perhaps my server just sucks ass monkies

If you don't mind my asking, how much do you pay for your server, feel free to pm if youd like. Do you run any other sites on it?
