If you have a history of hypertension like I do, you want to keep your sodium intake pretty low.

When i'm dieting i try to keep my sodium up, preferably as iodized salt. If you're prone to high blood pressure you want to keep it low, but for most healthy people sodium levels are tightly controlled by the body.

I read in some magazine that you should keep it around 1300 mg per day or something like that. :dunno:

Yeah, it was some fashion magazine I read at work the other day. I never keep track of how my I take in, so I have absolutely no idea what's supposed to be normal or right.

i've read that a higher sodium intake wont necessarily lead to high blood pressure, but if you have high blood pressure, a high sodium intake can make the problem worse
