q forms are decent if you reinforce them.

that's not a surprising price. mainly since your car is older, that could've included enough to cover your OE kicks if something were to happen. I used to do that sometimes; include the est. replacelment cost in my quote. I also would quote high to scare someone off if it was a job we didn't want to fool with.

sometimes people see old cars and say "holy shit it'll cost a lot to fix if we break something"

or i just don't know wtf those guys were thinking and they really jacked up the price

If you want to use 6.5's they certainly arent your best bet.

As for fitting, I cant say I've ever paid any attention to what the kickpanel area looks like on a 66 stang.

    NOOOOOOO MAKE YOUR OWN.

Just read the tutorials online and you will be fine. Even if you fuck up you will only be down like 30-40 bucks in materials. Just be sure to tape off the arena you need to work in real good and put trash bags around everything you dont want to fuck up in the car.

Not to mention that alot of the materials you buy, you can use for more than one fiberglass install.

Me and my buddy had no exp in fiberglassing and our first attempt wasnt that shitty. edit: we did my door panels not kicks http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/314367/7

We just read like one hundred tutorials and just went for it. Theres not really too much you can fuck up.. only if you're careless.
