How much should I expect to spend for a new muffler on a 97 Honda Civic?

    i know this is about as basic as basic can get for a car. mine just sounds rusted. the exhaust is getting louder each day.

    what am i looking to pay?

    well that depends....do you just want a tip or the entire exhaust? if its just the tip u can get one for about $60 plus the labor to put it on....for an entire exhaust it depends on how big you want the piping, but on an average it'll be around $200-$350.

    To replace a rusted out muffler with something just as quiet will be about $100-150 at most muffler shops.
    An OEM Honda muffler will be about $350.

    I have an OEM muffler that'll fit your car off my '00 Civic. How much are you looking to spend?

    i just need a tip. i don't need a whole new exahaust system. just the muffler. my buddy who is a mechanic said Midas should be able to simply weld on a new muffler for $25(?) or so.


    i'd like to keep it under $100 if possible. i have no idea what your muffler would go for on the market, but i'm sure it's more expensive than what i'd like to spend. :dunno:
