Not really sure how much I should use the thrust from my legs. Here's my current routine:

    BB clean and press
    15x45 warmup
    12x95
    10x105
    6x115

    Push presses
    6x115
    4x135
    2x165

I try not to use my legs too much...just enough so that the weight creeps up at a decent pace. Should I use more weight and use my legs more?

Gym story: I followed some guy into the restroom. He put his small tote thing inbetween two sinks, one of which was being used, the other wasn't. I went to the unused sink and started to wash my hands as he used the urinal. He finishes up and comes up behind me and goes "excuse me, I was going to use that...that's why I put my bag there." I turned around and kinda gave him the :ugh: and said, "If we're marking our territory when it's not in use, you may as well urinate all over the sink too." I then turned back around, finished washing my hands (took my time too) and left. Stupid motherfuckers.

that's why i'm asking about where he brings it down to. 145 is still kicking my ass :(

on a side note, do you get a bruise at the spot you bring the bar down to when doing push presses?

i use enough leg drive to where when the bar's weight bares back down, it's just a matter of my triceps locking it out

Use as much fucking leg drive as possible. The whole point is to go as heavy as you can.

And how would you differentiate it from a jerk?
In the jerk... your legs bend twice...at the beginning and before the lockout?

Yes in the Jerk you have 2 knee bends what happens is the initial knee bend is for the push then you dip under the bar to catch it overhead and lockout. Here's a powerjerk http://wfwclub.com/files/9.22.06_016.mpg

I assume you mean the bar.

I start with it on the floor, clean it up to my chest, push it overheard, bring it down to my chest, lower it back to the floor, then repeat.

Am I not supposed to lower it back to the floor and clean it up again? I'm guessing that let's me rest a little, but the whole from chest to floor, then cleaned back up again only takes a few seconds (and actually tires me the fuck out).

These are easier then just 'push presses' from my expierience...

edit: and by easier I mean you can "push" more weight up then a push press from the chest & repeat

jerk: you throw the bar up with leg drive and catch it with very little, if any at all, pressing

push press: you get the bar moving with your legs but finish it with your arms

Doesn't happen to me either, but then again I don't really bruise easily.
