I'm going to go with yes. 2 50g servings at different times would be ideal. How many 100g shakes are you eating?

Cut it down to 50g shakes, and the most you'll need from shakes is 100-150, you should get the rest from your diet.

There’s nothing wrong with taking that much protein, but your not gonna notice much of a difference if you cut it back to say 220-280g (~BW x 1.2-1.5), as long as you keep your overall calories at around the same level.

I would bet that after a few months of training and eating like this, your body will adapt to take more of what it needs.

Most people say 50-60 is max for the average lifter, but everyone is obviously different.

I believe the only study said that more than 30g per serving was not fully digested and caused stress to the subjects renal system as the demands put on the kidneys to process the additional nitrogen and elevated urea production were increased.

However this study was done with recovering alcohilics who were suffering from a degree of liver and renal failure.:rofl:

    So I don't think it's conclusive.

Unless you're juicing you don't need nearly that much. Aim for 200-250g.

I read something awhile back that taking it by itself limits its bioavailability. So if you take large amounts, you need to consume it with approrpriate levels of carbs or fat. Not sure if it was just an opinion or was supported by a study.

I've heard that your body can only absorb 30-50g protein every 3 hours.

    Haha, yea! No, but really.

Been in the health game for a long time. A lot of misinformation. That's why I said 30-50. I've heard people say specific numbers, but it cannot be specific for everyone. I do think there is a max for protein absorbtion at any given time. Why do you think it's recommended to eat every 3 hours when bulking?

More protein just stays in the stomach longer. It's recommended to eat every 3 hours so you can consume more calories as opposed to eating 3 meals a day.
