I am currently running a 1.7c w/512 Kingston 3200 memory and a Ge-Force 4 video card. I am going to be getting a Amd 64(754) with an ECS motherboard. One of the Fry's deals. Will there be a huge difference in performace. I realize that I will need a new video card also. That will caom later.

it is possible that your new system will be WORSE than your current system. The ECS motherboards (when they work, which is rare) are absolute CRAP!!!

I'd recommend you save up some extra bucks and go with a S939 AMD64 and an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum motherboard. If you can't spare that much cash, you can stick with the 754, but get an MSI K8N Neo Platinum board.

S754 does not support dual channel memory, and the S939 does... Keep that in mind if you wnat this system to game or last a long time.

I have a ESC board now, and it has been running great for almost 3 years. I guess I got lucky. How does this one sound. MSI K8TNEO-FSR Motherboard and AMD 64 2800. For 189.99

I'll vouch for the MSI Neo mobo mentionned above, i took his and others' advice and got it a few weeks back, no regrets here, coupled with an Athlon64 3500+ my pc is a beast!

I sold Gigabyte for 2 years, and I won't touch them anymore.
