Very little, if any at all. While the OS may support 64 bit, none of the programs you are going to install will support 64bit. I recommend waiting till Windows Vista, and perhaps then we'll see some more 64bit apps.
The OS should run faster, and if you are doing any high end video stuff there are more then likey already 64bit versions of your software.
You also can most open source stuff 64bit, IE firefox, it just needs to be recompilied for it, and there are 64bit binaries floating around...
64 runs great. I actually saw a pretty good increase in WoW framerate just from running 64 (all from the 64 bit drivers probably).
The big problem is all the drivers seem to be buggy as hell and there is no software written for it yet. A lot of stuff doesn't even have working drivers for 64 too. I ended up going back to good old XP32.
When is Vista being released?
early on, 64 bit ran like crap compared to 32 bit xp...but i guess you can blame that on the drivers. right now, you won't be able to find any programs that will utilize 64 bit technology....kinda makes me wonder why my athlon 64 3000+ was released a while ago anyways...it's not like i can really even use it to it's full potential, unless i get some version of 64 bit linux
So like 2007 and then 2008 when SP1 comes and fixes the major bugs?
excellent love u guys =]
