i love this movement even though i cant do much
i honestly don't know, never done it. it seems really difficult
besides the fact that they're good for your core, is there any other benefit to these that you wouldnt get from regular squats?
ill let someone else answer this
i've never done 'em
If I try doing them with more than like 95lbs I fall over.
F&N demands a vid
with 96 pounds :crossesfingers:
Is this some kind of joke?
same here, I feel over with just the bar the other day I was like fuck that shit
I tried overhead squatting for the first time last week. It was pathetic. I tried 85lbs and fell over like a F'ing retard. I tried again and got 85 x 1. then I decided I was over it. for now.
Have now Idea how peeps can overhead a ton of weight during the Jerk.
best 225 , ive noticed it really helped my push/jerk presses, and the snatch
If this can OH Squat 225
155, but that's only a little past parallel, not ATG.
yeah no fucking way you did 225 faggot. theyre a really good way to assess flexibility, primarily hips, second shoulders. theyre never going to be good for overload or anything since youre limited on your squat by what you can hold statically overhead which would hopefully be less than youre able to back/front squat. easily toughest movement though.
And overall core stability. Not that it's something you can measure, but I feel slightly more coordinated after having started them...
how would that be a joke?
would training for core strength be negated if you did this exercise on the smith machine?
that takes away the entire part of being able to hold it and balance it over your head while doing the squat motion and makes everything linear
you shouldnt be doing anything on smith machines
Ive done 135x5 before. I dont just "overhead squat" anymore though, I just do full snatches instead on my oly day.
i know i can do 185 now, maybe 205 and will gladly provide vid upon request. i have been doing them for a while so i dont see why you doubt me what ever, they are light weights compared to what real oly lifters do
Remove your av if you dont get this reference.
