How much do you guys spend on food a week for gaining muscle?

And are there any foods good for you that are high calorie AND high protein? Seems like everything high protein is low low calories. And vice versa. Besides fish and nuts, anything not so obvious that is low in saturated fat?

I'm trying to put together a diet to start working out to gain lean mass. I'm a damn stick right now at 6'2" 170. I hold 170 no matter what I eat and no matter how much/lack of exercise I get. The calculator linked in the tutorial gives me about 3700 calories needed to gain.

What is a realistic goal for me to set regarding lean weight gain per month/week/whatever without putting on too much fat? I don't want to set it too high and get burnt out.

    Thanks for the help guys

50/week. Shop smart, coupons, sales, buy in bulk = win

I was up to about 80 then cut back by doing above.

I go to Sams/Costco once a month and fill the freezer up. It saves me a lot of money.

    the g/f and I usually average about $120-140 a week, so for me I'd said $70-80 ($60-70US)

About $120 a week. I don't know how you guys live on $70 a week. I used to spend that much in College and that was a term that my friend was a frosh leader and stole about 100 cans of instant rice from the school at the beginning of the term which I ate the whole term along with my groceries. :mamoru:

It seems that no matter if I bulk or cut I end up spending the same since cutting food tends to be more expensive. That was cutting on low fat, moderate carbs though, I'm gonna try carb-cycling or maybe even Keto and I heard that's MUCH cheaper.

costco for meat, eggs & milk, bulk store for other stuff, like rice & oats

buying miminally processed foods and local grown fruits & veggies (low shipping costs) helps keep costs down for most things too
