I was at 24 Hr Fitness the other day, and a PT (I got some free sessions) was trying to sell 'em to me when it was all over.

He was asking $300 for 5 sessions. While that's probably an 'average' price, sheesh :ugh:

Still, that's $60/hr in revenue. What kinda $$$ do they take home? Does the gym cut out most of that?

just gotta remember, it seems like a lot, but PTs aren't constantly training people - theres a lot of walking around/not doing shit time involved. It breaks down to pretty shitty pay for the average trainer. But if you are turning people in to Arnold, people will notice and you will make better money.

What kind of experience do you need to be hired as one?

At Bally's they take home about 30-35 Canadian per session. Maybe abit higher. That's if they sold the personal training sessions themselves. If not its lower.

Some trainers make very good cash depending on a lot of things. The ones that are very well built tend to make a lot more than the others though from what I've seen.

Wow 60!!! I pay 45 for 1hr pro-rated for my powerlifting coach and thats when he charges me full price. Then again I think I am a little project of his since nobody on his pl team is competing in the next pl meet.

Did they give you the clients or did you have to sell your pt services yourself?

I had to market myself, every once in a while you would get someone who just signs up and their training sessions are given to you, but you only get payed for their hours, you dont get any cut off of what they payed for the training package.

I charge some clients 80$ to go to their homes. I started with 25$ Canadian when I was covering the clients for this other trainer but later got 40$ out of the 80$ he charged. This was sweet because it was at a gym that the trainer had a deal with the manager to allow him and me to train people. Pissed off most of the club's trainers though.

I didn't have time, i had to work with client's schedules, which was very difficult being in school fulltime, i had no time to market myself or anything, so i found myself only having like 3-4 constant clients a week, i decided to quit and just focus on school and give it another shot later
