I ate (and drank) a bunch of crap this past weekend and I got to wondering how much taking those two days off of my diet plan really cost me.

Let's say it took 2000 calories a day to maintain your weight and you ate (and drank) 3700 for two days – how much would your body be able to metabolize and turn to fat vs. just turning it to waste? (just in general)

(I'm not talking about weight according to the scales but how much actual fat you could gain in two days)

    Just curious.

Thanks for the replies but It's not that I'm worried about it.

Between lurking here and losing a lot of weight in the past over a 10 month period, I know it's not about the numbers on the scale or that two days is going to "ruin" everything. I just got to thinking about it and became curious that's all.

(BTW I'm not a college student, I'm an old geezer)

Holy crap....you're back! (as "Pur" that is) It used to crack me up when you had the 06 account and people tried to give you shit for being a noob.

I thought maybe there would be a "general" formula kind of like the 2000 calories a day guideline that's out there for "everybody".

    Honestly, everyone is different.

Some of the 250lb guys will gain weight on 3000 calories a day, some guys at 150 will lose weight on 3000 calories a day.

Also, your body will use EVERYTHING you give it. You're not 100% efficient but generally speaking if you gave it 3000 calories and you need 2000, then 1000 calories were left over and stored.

But like everyone said, 2 days is nothing to worry about. Some people are ill/injured for weeks or even months, and still get back into things. Just keep doing the right thing *most* of the time and you'll be fine!
