How many of you rely on protein powder to get the bulk of your protein intake?

    I can't believe how many people I see that have whey as 50% or more of their daily intake.

    Why do you people need to drink so many shakes when you can get quality, tasty protein from food.

    I can't recall the last time someone asked how a ribeye tasted, but there are countless threads on how X protein powder tastes.

    I just :rofl: every I see people buying like 10-20lbs of protein powder. I'd rather eat chicken and beef

    i buy 10-20lbs of protein powder at a time. :dunno:

    then i get about 50g a day from powder

    easier, faster, cheaper. :)

    25% unless I don't eat supper and I replace it with a super shake! than it's about 50/50.

    usually just one shake a day and that's PWO. Now i always keep some on hand in case i'm in a pinch and don't have time to eat a reg meal, but i generally only use one shake a day. As you said, Real food >*

    I'm getting very little from powder. Only 2 scoops (post workout) and 1 scoop with oatmeal in the morning. That's it. 60g's out of 300.

    I just bought some unflavored protein too :wtc: ... didn't want one that had 7g's of carbs per serving.

    Have class from 930am to 1:45...its just easy to drink a shake between classes and especially one PWO.
    But, after class is out, its easy to cook a nice steak or chicken. So, I guess its moderate intake of protein powder.

    2 scoops in the AM with oats, only because i fucking hate breakfast and have no appetite when I wake up

    otherwise I'd way rather eat steak or fish

    I just use a single scoop in the morning, everything else is always from food. :dunno:

    I still buy it in bulk though, easier and then I don't have to worry about it at all.

    You don't have a high food demand with your metabolism Sean. Trying to get 4000-5000 cals with just food sucks. Try eating 300-400g of protein a day in food and it will start to wear on you I'd guess.

    PWO shake, but that's because I'm on the parents dime. When I'm paying for myself and trying to eat 3k + calories a day, I could see intake going up.

    Yeah I guess. Even when I was aiming for 300+ grams I really didn't have much trouble getting it with whole food. Maybe a scoop in the morning and PWO.

    when i get busy and don't get time to buy/thaw/cook a few pounds of meat i'll just slam shakes for a day or two till i get around to cooking a batch

    Lately I have made a consistent effort to get 225 grams of protein and this is forcing me to take a lot more protein....I take 25 g in the morning with a banana for breakfast, 50 after workout and another one atleast in one day.

    I have a shake a day pretty much, but that's out of pure convenience, I'm always on client sites and don't have much flexibility or time for lunch. On the weekends I'd much rather eat meat :yum:

    My appetite has been sucking lately to the point of having to force down 90% of my food unless it's shit like ice cream. I go through phases where I'll have a huge appetite and don't touch whey for months then get tired of eating and have to increase the number of shakes.

    Before I started cutting, I got the majority from food. BUT, it gets expensive quick when you are eating 1-2 lbs of meat a day, especially with beef.
