All the time I see wmd recommending training, from tactical carbine, to pistol, probably even some shotgun even though I have never personally seen it.

What I want to know is how many of you train for hand to hand combat? Say you have a FTF or stove pipe, god forbid with your carry weapon. Do any of you practice Krav maga, tae kwon do, Brazilian ju jitsu etc?

I know most of us practice slap and rack drills but in the unlikley event the drill dosnt clear a malfunction are any of you trained to defend yourselves without a weapon?

edit: If you do please post what you are training in/proficent with. No i joined Karate 2 weeks ago crap.

Me: I don't but I am really thinking about joining a BJJ club.

I train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and have trained Muay Thai, Savate, Combat Submission Wrestling, and some Boxing (stopped everything but 1 day of BJJ a week due to school).

interesting, did you keep the BJJ because you feel its more effective than the other techniques?

Hey 2L Bunny, I'm guessing you've taken Close Encounters? I've been dying to take that class, just haven't had the time recently. Would you recommend it or something else at OFA?

I would HIGHLY recommend CEOTWK and CEOTWK II. Shawn is an amazing instructor with a real world background in martial arts, organized and other fights. This class is a real eye opener on how little use a gun can be when facing a knife at contact range.

FWIW, as his schedule allows he does monthly Fri night classes for CEOTWK graduates.

Just what I wanted to hear, much appreciated! I had one class with Shawn last year or so and he definitely sounded like he knew his stuff.
