I have ignored my foam roller for a long time now. I started SMR again yesterday (it hurts) and I'm already seeing the benefits in thoracic mobility.

How often do you guys roll and how do you incorporate it into your routine?

I already have it...I'm just wondering how many people are still using their rollers. Back when I bought my foam roller it was a big thing on F&N...lots of people talked about it, which is why I went ahead and bought one. I used it a lot for a while, but forgot about it. I was wondering if I was the only one.

If you're referring to SMR with a PVC pipe that sounds awful. It hurts enough with this nice foam roller that is hard, but has a certain amount of "give" to it.

It probably depends on why your IT band is painful. If you strained it I don't think SMR is going to help--it might actually make it worse.

I think rolling the IT band is more for the knee...back when I first started using my roller I had some pain in my knee. I worked on the IT band for about a week and the knee pain went away completely.

Maybe I'm not doing something right, or just need more pressure, but the front of my legs don't hurt w PVC :dunno:

You're either doing it wrong or you have great soft-tissue quality.

holy fuck.. i just rolled this area and it produced the worst pain ever. It feels like the muscles are being ripped apart..feels kind of sore. it's like where the calves meet the hamstrings.. but my hamstrings/calves are perfectly fine when i roll them..
