Example: On Monday you do a flat bench press. After you leave the gym, how long do you wait before hitting the pecs again? (It can be a different exercise than bench, I just wanna know when you decide to work out the pecs again.)

This can be any muscle. Answer the poll "on average..."

depends entirely on volume of previous exercise etc and the muscle

something small like a bicep? a while for direct high volume

something bigger, the back for instance, can take a lot of volume and recover quickly depending on cal intake

    this thread is retarded man

48 hours. I do each group heavy (70-80%) twice a week with 2-3 light workouts in between. I do heavy tri's and shoulders on a different day than bench because I count it as a light tri and shoulder day.

It's all about the quantity of the workout, but I wanna know why you considered my 18 set workouts high volume while your 15 set workouts were low volume. Was it overall number of reps?

because your 18 sets for one set of muscle group, 7 days a week, as opposed to 3x15

126 sets on your workout a week
45 sets on bill starr routine (rougly)

not taking into account the actually repititions performed our loads moved, I'd consider yours to be 'higher' volume.

not to mention that the 15 sets were spread over many different muscles as opposed to just 18 sets focussing on the flexor carpi ulnaris

i've been thinking of switching to a m/w/f full body workout as opposed to my current 3 day split. do you suggest one set of 8-10 reps with each movement hitting different body parts... something like this:

one set at 8-10 reps of
    Squats
    Leg Extensions
    Leg Curls
    Dumbbell Pullovers
    Barbell Overhead Shoulder Press
    Seated Rows
    Bench Press
    Barbell Bicep Curls
    Tricep Extensions
    Weighted Pullups
    Weighted Dips
    Standing Calf Raises

or is there a better way to do a full body m/w/f workout?

btw, i got that routine off bodybuilding.com
