I have 8, just placed an order for 4 more, bringing me to 12.

I usually only buy these when they're priced $9.99 for the pack of 4 (which has become increasingly rare, hence my desire to buy more). Now, my question is, if I don't ever plan on extending my flash collection beyond 2 or 3, will I need more than 12 in the near future? I'm looking to pick up a 430EXII in the near future, and maybe 1 or 2 more.. and I don't think I'm ever going to go beyond that.

Is it worth it to have 1 set of backups for every flash you own?

Now, I know that the wireless triggers you attach to them also use AA's, but I figure since those don't eat up much juice, disposable alkalines would be fine. Or do you guys shove eneloops in those too?

backups are great to have, you never know when your batteries might die during a shoot.

I have 20 of them myself (and own 2 flashes)

I started out with one of their kits that gives you 8 AA, 4 AAA, a charger, etc.

I have at least 30 AA's. I use them in everything now... I keep a couple spare sets for each flash, enough spares to fill the AA tray for the battery grip in both the d200 and d80, I use them in my Wii remotes, LED flashlights, etc.

Use them in flashes & battery grip. I always have extras just in case.

i only have about 12 AA's. I keep waiting for a deal to pop up but I usually miss it because they sell out pretty quick.

Eneeloops for the important stuff, and some old Energizers (from before I knew how good Eneloops were) that I use in crap like remotes, wireless mice, toothbrushes, shit like that.
