When will the numbers come out? If they actually do come out. The payouts were crazy. I bet alot of the UFC fighters are like WTF!? I wonder who will jump ship.

Is $800,000 the highest payout ever?

Pretty sure I've seen a higher payouts for the UFC including ppv's. It may have been Liddell and Couture which was about 850 and 900 or something like that.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/news?slug=dm-103007ufcconference&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

    Couture -
"According to documents displayed and referenced in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Couture is on line to earn approximately $3 million from the UFC in 2007. This is broken down into a $500,000 bonus, which is the subject of current semantic dispute; $250,000 guaranteed for each of his two fights this year; $936,000 in a pay-per-view bonus for the March 3 fight with Tim Sylvia where he won the heavyweight title; $787,000 in a pay-per-view bonus for the August 25 fight with Gonzaga; $35,000 in a best fight bonus for the Gonzaga fight; and $200,000 in another contract he had with the company which would cover television appearances, announcing and other promotional work."

I think he means base salary... Guys like Chuck and Randy would only get a base salary of around $500k or less from the UFC, but then get ppv % and/or bonuses which could easily push them over the $1 million mark. I imagine Fedor got these same types of bonuses and made well over the $300k that is listed... You can also figure that some of the guys probably signed lucrative merchandising deals for their custom Affliction shirts...

  10. I predicted an abject failure, but I think it will sell reasonably well.

I'd be absolutely shocked if it was even close to competitive with UFC numbers or even at a break-even level.

That Tom Atencio guy was talking like they got well over 100k buys... but I will have to see it to believe it... I hope they did well as that was a great show...

Companies never really release their numbers. The UFC doesnt, someone from inside just leaks it

He said they did well over 100,000 buys. If true, did Dana sink his own ship by going against Affliction with a free Fight Night. If it wasn't free i assure you Affliction #'s would be pretty low. Only having to buy 1 pay-per-view and watching another event free was . Thanks Dana :bigthumb:

Dana would have done more to hurt Affliction if the July 19th card wasn't free. But instead he didn't really hurt them, but gave the fans two awesome cards for the price of 1 :h5:

Some article on Yahoo had early predictions of just over 100 thousand. Would be most succesful PPV behind UFC.

100k buys might be impressive for their first ever ppv but it doesn't mean they are here to stay. If they have no TV deal they are worthless like every other mma organization. At best they will end up like EliteXC which is shit.

    Donald Trump means shit

He's a smart business man and he will not throw money into a failing mma organization.

He won't throw money into a failing MMA organization, but he will lend money to a promising MMA organization to help with growing pains and get them off their feet. In that sense, he means much more than "shit."
