From the time they hit the streets in the US, how long do you folks think it will take for these cars to drop to those prices? Let's just say starting price is $80,000 even.

Also keep in mind Nissan is bringing over a vSpec edition.

    3 years?
    4 years?
    More?

  8. Yeah, because when I think of serious performance Lexus is the first thing that comes to mind. All this will be is some bloated luxury "supercar" for old asians.

How fast does it take Z06 Vette's to drop? I'd say it will be close to the same time frame.

quite a while I suspect, a couple local dealers have managed to get 125k for the first couple units. All dealers are planning a nice mark-up and only receiving a few units for a while

By the time more are available and prices come down to $60k, some company will start advertising they made one run low 10's on stock tires and turbos and people will all jack off like they do the the "vishnu" 335i , despite never actually modding the car after buying it.

What is the release date of the GT-R and what is the release date of the new M3?

Problem is, M3 is used to impress women, and GT-R will impress men (boys). Most people with just enough money for a $60k car will choose BMW for vaginal+penile envy, rather than the strictly penile with the GT-R.

So for this reason I think the prices will drop. But the biggest drop will be when the warranty is up. And when the Vspec comes out.

Personally I'm looking forward to this thing coming out so I can just try to cop an R33 GT-R from saudi arabia for less.

    Asians.

Probably take a while. Nissans usually don't have the best resale value (which is good for those of us who buy used) but there is so much pent up demand for this car prices will stay high for a while.

Not true, every single one is. and marking them up 20-40k. Each dealership is going to be lucky even to get 1.

No. A few people have already purchassed GTRs AT MSRP. Though most are charging anywhere from $5,000-$25,000 mark ups, not all are. And some dealers are getting 3-5 GTRs...it depends on there 350Z allocations.

    It might take 8 years.

    Consider that:

    1. Nissan is sending only 1500 to the US yearly.
    2. It matches the performance of a 911 Turbo (a $130k car)
    3. It has Japanese reliability, so used examples won't take the hit that Euro/American models typically do.

How many women would know and/or care the difference between an M3 and a 328i anyway?

If you just want poon-status you get the lowest trim convertible. That's how it works.

The Z06 is still being marked up, but there are dealers that will sell @ sticker. Give it a year and you should be able to find a dealer or two that will be reasonable. Now if Nissan keeps production numbers low, you may be out of luck.
