    Hi

Hoping there will be a Macbook Pro update at next week's Macworld, How long should it take the new products to arrive in Apple Stores? I was planning on going to buy one next Sunday but don't know *if* there was an update if they would be instock yet...

Also, Does anyone know what papers you have to show at an Apple store to recieve an educational discount? All I have now is an email stating that I got into a university...

    Thanks

I think they have them in the stock room before the announcement so they can start selling immediately. They aren't really strict about documentation but you might be asked to show a student ID. I don't think they do any kind of verification for online orders.

You aren't really a student until you start classes, though.

So I guess if I order from the online store, it should just deliver like a normal order would?(since a bunch are already built) It wouldn't be like a 4-6 week backorder or anything?

In store isn't immediate, but if you order online, you're good to go. Apple ships quickly.
Online, you don't need to show anything, in store you can usually show student ID or some other form of proof.

There's a 6-8 week wait, but people with an av go to the front of the line.

It depends on the product... Sometimes 8 weeks... sometimes already in stock... sometimes (iphone) nearly 6 months.

For online ordering you just enter your student number, at least on Apple Canada's site you do. There's a drop down list where you choose your university too.

what i really want to know is if something's updated, if they drop the prices and still sell the previous revision.
