How long many days should you rest for?

    I've been hitting the weights for a month straight. I recently reinjured my lower back -- pinch nerve down my right leg. I took a rest day today figuring I would just rest and hit it back tommorow. I feel weak and deflated if i do not go to the gym -- its an addiction. How much muscle mass would I lose if I stop lifting for a week?

    you worked out every single day for a month straight, correct? 30 days in a row with no break?

    how do you expect to recover going to the gym everyday. you build muscle outside the gym when your body repairs itself

    As long as he's eating enough, getting enough sleep, and not trying to go for broke everyday - he should be fine.

    going everyday also dampens your cns. just a bad idea all around unless you are a genetic freak of nature
