MIL How long is free fall on a HALO jump?

    just curious, i googled it and i didnt see it. how long are you free falling for before opening the chute?

    Depends on your jump altitude and when you open your chute.

    probly no longer than 2 minutes tops, just guessing :dunno:

    In a typical HALO/HAHO insertions, the troops are dispatched from altitudes between 25,000 feet (7,600 m) and 35,000 feet (11,000 m).

    they dont always jump with supplemental oxygen, depends on the altitude.
    one of my friends is HALO qualified and I asked him about this
