just curious. i'm fairly new myself
over 8 years. since I was 5 to be precise.
Macintosh LC and a mac plus at about the same time (wasnt mine)
4 yrs, another month and I'd be in the 4-8 year group.
15 years. I brought home a mac+ that the company was going to pitch.
The first one I bought was a Power Computing Power Tower Pro 250. It was just before Apple pulled the plug on their license in '96.
Although I don't use it anymore, I have it upgraded with a Sonnet G4 800 running 10.2, 1 gig of ram and an upgraded video card. I finally had enough when I bought an iPod and couldn't get it to sync because the PTP didn't have native firewire.
first computer i ever used was a mac
about 2-3 months... I'm a newb...
a little more than a year. and couldn't be happier.
Well when I was really young I use to play with them when I was around 7-12 I went thru a few different systems I remember having a Centris 610. Also I remember trying to learn to program in hypercard. Yes odd a young kid programming his own games at that age. Anyways once I got on windows 95 i started playing games and got stuck on it when it was a larger variety of playing and learning stuff. During college I spent most of my time on macs in class G4-G5 era, than after college about 3 months a go I bought my first G5 Quad. Now I am loving it since it works well with what I do. I plan on buying an MBP and selling off all my pc equipment.
Little more than 2 years I think
thanks for your life's story.
first was a performa 638cd in 94 or 96, something like that. OS 6.x
I thought it was kind of neat to hear that
and I have been using one off and on (my dad's) for about 3 years, finally got my own about 1 week ago
I have had mine for over a year and a half, but I have been using them off and on for about 6 years.
bought my first one 1 month ago
since the performa 6300
prob about 10 years or so
i cant remember what the first desktop we had was but i do remember the laptop and OS
first laptop - the Powerbook 150, a blazing 33 mHz with 4mb RAM, 500mb HD
this is the first mac os i used, its come a long way since then (not sure what exact version of 7 it was but it was def 7)
since the early 90's...
On my first Mac after the big switch. Bought it in April so a little over 6months here
Dear Lord that brings back memories. I can almost hear the intermittent buzzing of the floppy drive.
Does anyone remember Leisure Suit Larry?
I got a macbook a few months ago and I couldn't be happier
Yes, but I played it on pc.
God, I remember being a freshman in college in '95 and this girl still had one of them macs with like the 10" screen.
1 year, got my Powerbook 15" G4 for my freshman year of college.
since 2001 my colleges math lab (which I visited quite religiously) had all macs then when I started working my company supplied me with macs
hahaha I remember Leisure Suit Larry. I was selling Macs back in the early 90s...the Classic, LC, II Si and II C models were the most popular. This was ~'90 - '91 time frame and I do remember that if you were really rich....you could get the IIsi with the 80 MB Harddrive (standard was 40 MB)....yeah...that's Megabytes! Oh man...those were the days.
Here's a photo of one of the older ones:
I haven't used macs much since then but I'm thinking about picking one up after I finish my second degree...when I have more money to spend.
Been using since version 8.
I remember when the beige G3's came out and thinking they were the shit.
