dont listen to the sell by dates. Milk will usually stay good for a week to two weeks after it. At least that has been my experience. If tastes fine and smells fine then it isnt bad.

I buy two gallons every 1-3 days so I never have to worry about the expiration dates.

i usually buy 4 gallons at a time... and thats well under a week's worth of milk. i never even think to check expiration dates anymore since i drink it so fast.

if it passes the smell/visual test, then it's good to go.

boil the milk. if it doesn't turn into chunks like tofu, then it's good.
