Heres my workout. I did this 3 days ago and it still fucking hurts to sit down. Is going too hard, a bad thing?

    squats 5 x 5
    deadlift 5 x 5 (supersetted with)
    wide grip pullups
    leg press 15, 12, 10, 8
    db lunges 8 x 3
    calf raises 8 x 3

    .

If you're kinda new to it, maybe a few days especially if you're not very active (ala playing sports using legs a lot etc)

I did legs yesterday and I'm already recovered. It's weird, no soreness or anything.

Just cause you're not sore doesn't mean you've already recovered. If you squatted today could you do more weight than yesterday?

When I'm in the midst of a routine I'm generally sore for a day, MAYBE 2, and fatigued for 2-3.

Assuming you use heavy compound movements, I don't think the routine matters much.

Depends mostly on the volume. There can be no soreness... but there's also been times when I've been sore for almost a week.

I did a bunch of single leg squats a while back and the inside of my thighs (hip abductors?) were sore for like 5-6 days.

In terms of the CNS, no. No crazy fatigue or soreness like usual. However my chest is still sore from Mondays workout so who knows.

    that was legit question

curious about the advantage of supersetting (besides saving time) when it seems it would be beneficial to wait until recovered to start a new set

Usually it takes 2 days, I now added 10-15 min on the boring stair machine and recovery has improved a lot.

If you do pre or post-fatigue methods, you can hit a better percentage of the muscle fibers.

Every week when i do legs it takes about 3 days for them to feel normal again.

    This week i did
    Squats- 5 sets
    Leg press- 3 sets
    SLDL- 3 sets
    Lunges 4 sets
    Calve raises- 5 sets

Reps are in the 6-10 range

Also if i work out the next day after legs, my work out usually sucks and i'm weak as shit.

It takes me very little time to recover usually. Even after leg days, I can hardly feel my quads sore (hammtrings are a different story). Then again, my diet is in check, and I'm not exactly new to training.

the less calories you consume, the bigger the soreness ?
