How long do you guys keep RAW files around for?
Or once you process a file, you export it to jpeg, and then delete the RAW?

I don't see the need for keeping the RAW's around since they will easily kill disk space after a year or two worth of shooting.

Just keep them forever. Back them up onto external hard drives.

Without the raw, whats the point of the jpeg?

I dont delete the raw unless it'll never be a useable file like if the shot is oof

Yup, same here. With storage dirt cheap, there's no reason to delete it. Just organize your ish so that your better content is more easily available if you're worried about having to sift through all your garbage.

For the most part, I've had all my raws since I first started.
I've had people I work with ask me for prints of photos I took way back in 2007 even, and having the RAW files has enabled me to provide them with the prints. Glad I kept them!

Did you make prints of your film then throw your negatives away?

depends on the picture, but typically if its a shot i like, i keep the raw around. if its a picture that requires some really heavy pp like a composite or something, i'll sometimes get rid of the raw and keep the psd with the layers.
