I am eating at a caloric deficit and still consistently gaining #s on my lifts week after week. Do newb gains last 6 months ( :x: ) from the beginning of my training?

It depends. If you're eating at a deficit and it's been nearly 6 months I would try to up the cals to prolong muscle/strength gain. Eventually you're going to hit a wall.

You've got a ways to go, but if you're eating a deficit on a 5x5 program you're selling yourself short my friend.

What are your goals? If your trying to lose fat get leaner, then 5x5 is the wrong program. If you're trying to gain muscle/strength then it is.

True, but if you're gaining weight your gonna gain fat too? Am I wrong. If so let me know I would hate to give the wrong advice. Based on the fact that he is in a caloric deficit it seems like he wants to lose fat.

losing that weight is all what you eat. training is the stimulant telling your body you need to keep that muscle on a diet
