how is the macbookpro's battery life?

    compared to a power book, how much did it suffer now that it has a brighter display?
    i really couldn't find much info on apple.com

    i'm getting like 3.5 hours. this is a little disappointing but i'm used to an IBM X40 getting 4.5 and up.

    i havent put it through many trials yet, we'll see

    For reference, my 1.5ghz 15" G4 PB gets about 2:30 if I'm using wireless, or 3:30 if I'm just tooling around reading PDF's or something.

    Watching a DVD, I can barely make it through on battery.

    Do you turn off bluetooth as well? It's recomended ripping dvd's to the hard drive for playback and then deleting them to save battery life.

    3.5 hrs with wireless on

    almost 4 hrs with wireless off

    10% left after watching family guy movie on dvd and having wireless on
