wouldnt mind picking up that safe but there isnt one around here

  6. The Taurus is fine so long as you intend to use it just as a range gun. There are better deals out there for the same amount of money though.

I won't touch the taurus reputation but one thing I've learned with shooting is aftermarket is important. Even when I didn't think I'd care about the aftermarket for a gun, I still often wind up wanting to have something worked on or something bought. I'd save my pennies for a springfield or better just for that reason.

Yeah. It wouldn't be a self-defense gun. Just show gun. Put some pewter grips on it and a faux suppressor. Make it all gangstered out. :coolugh:

I paid 450 for mine. For what I paid it is an awesome range gun. It is accurate enough and is 1911 through and through.

MIne's gone through near 4K rounds just fine. The PT1911 is a lot higher quality than their previous offerings. The former head of S&W's 1911 department heads taurus's now. Best $500 1911 out there!

I had one and I loved it. Sold it for something else (don't remember what) but I'd buy another one sure.

    I wouldn't carry a 1911 again but that's just me.

It's not a top of the line 1911, but most people that own one say they really like it.
Then there are the people with $4,000 100% custom 1911's that try to say it's a piece of junk and an inferior product. Everything is inferior to these people.

I'd get a Springfield or Dan Wesson. But I've seen Taurus' on Bud's website for like $500-$600. Not a bad deal.
