I'm 6'5 193 and just started working out around the middle of August.

This is what I do every other day in this order. I'm not exactly sure the correct names of everything so bear with me.

These are all sets of 10.

    3 x Leg Extensions.

    3 x Leg Press.

    3 x Calf Raises.

    3 x Bench.

    3 x Incline.

    3 x Decline.

    3 x Rows.

    3 x Lat Pulldowns.

    3 x Curls.

    3 x Dumbbell Bench.

    3 x Tricep Pulldowns.

    3 sets of 20 Situps.

Weak areas? What can I add? I'm pretty sure I need some more dumbbell excercises for chest/shoulders but don't know what to do. Ideas?

    Thanks guys.

You do 36 sets a workout? :eek3: That'd kill me!

I'd say drop the sets down to around 18-20 and up the intensity. If you're doing full-body workouts, focus mostly on compound/multi-joint movements.

if you're new, you should probably do a routine that's been written up by a strength coach or something...

Rippetoes 3x5 and Bill Starrs 5x5 routine are both great.

    Monday (legs):

    front squats heavy 3x5-8
    Leg curls 3x8
    Good mornings 3x5-8
    Abs

    Tuesday (chest,tris,lats):
Bench heavy 5x5 (all same weight)
    Tricept pushdown 3x8
    BB Rows 5x5
    DB Rows 3x8
    Abs

    Thursday (back, bis):
    Deadlift 5x5
    front squats 3x5-8
    Military 5x5
Pull ups as many as possible x 5
    CG bench 3x8
    Curls 3x8
    Abs

I added some decent strength with bill starr's routine. Christophers' modified routine looks better IMO but I was too lazy to do all the extra work and stuck with the basic bill starr routine that I found.

Strength training is definitely the way to go when you're first starting out, and full body routines will do you a lot of good rather than all the stuff you're doing right now (might overtrain yourself doing all that stuff).

What makes you say strength building is better than mass building when you're starting out? The OP hasn't even stated his goals.
