So I bought Age of Conan on release day and played to about level 25 (a little ways after the "solo" beginning part). Then I realized the game royally sucked ass and I stopped playing. It's been a long time since then and I was curious how the game was now? Does it play better? Is it more fun? I don't want to reinstall the entire thing, patch it up, and pay for a month of playtime if it still royally sucks.

    Input needed!

it is funny and I deserve ridicule :bowrofl:. I should have known better with failcoms track record.

I will always stand by the fact that the pvp and combat element made wow's pvp and combat look and feel like dog shit. but if aoc had never existed than wows pvp would be the best for now.

it was fun for a while but i think only because it was something new. But the graphics were great and I really had none of the performance problems everyone was complaining about.

the classes were very unique and had some fun abilities, the fact you could real time dodge and strafe to avoid attacks added an entirely new element of skill not found in wow, the healing system allowed healers to be in the combat fighting 90% of the time which was amazing for healers, the fatalities were just hilarious/awesome when you dominated your opponent you suddenly chopped his arms off then whirlwind decapitated his head

you could not face roll your way to victory in any way in that game

not to mention when you had 14 year olds talking trash to you on your faction or stealing jer mobs/loots, all you had to do was remove his head, lol @ him, and move on with owning.

Played it from day one till level 40 and left. PvP was shit and not FFA everywhere. The only game where PvP dominates is Asherons Call, still, sadly. Full free roam FFA PvP.

what track record AO is still going strong. They're not making massive amounts of money off it, but it's not failing either.

I guess thats a matter of opinion... to me being a really small niche game thats not really making a lot of money and is sustaining a small population in relation to the big money makers of mmos or isnt going strong :dunno:

AO's release was a huge failure. After 2 years or so, it got going great and is kind of meh now that it's a free afterthought. Great game though.

AO had some of the greatest concepts with the most boring gameplay... Sucks :o AoC kind of followed suit as well.
