I can't go slow enough to keep it around 130, which is the supposed "fat burning" range. I have to very slowly trudge, and even still, it's at least mid 150s to high 160s. Up the resistance? Won't that also raise BP? Maybe I should get a real BP monitor rather than the ones built into the handles of the elliptical?

The main reason I use the elliptical is because my lower back bothers me running.

You are dumb, do not come to this board for a month or so and get some knowledge. Just kidding.

I can see where you're coming from but my resting BP is still low-normal. Out of shape could have something to do with it, if it weren't for the fact that the cardio is pretty easy and it's just a pain keeping it that low. Even when I'm in very good shape (which I'm not right now, but not bad either) it's not that low, we'll see. I imagine it will go down with time.

Fat burning zone means absolutely dick. Calories out > calories in will cause you to lose weight. Doesn't matter if you're sprinting or walking.
