how important is it to put the fuse 1.5' from the battery?

    my friend has the fuse at the back of his car screwed on to his sub box. is it really necessary to put the fuse in the engine bay?

    well, if it shorts somewhere, its going to melt all of that wire that is from the fuse to the battery most likely, my friend did that in his metro, he had lots of melted insulation everywehre. nothing like 15 ft of melted insulation in your engine bay, under your carpet and on your sub box.

    PUT THE FUSE IN THE ENGINE BAY
    the closer to the battery the better

    just try to keep it with in a few feet of the battery in some cases putting it with in 1.5 feet is hard as long as its under the hood and close to the battery your fine

    if its sort of long just make sure the power wire is well protected under the hood

    Very, unless you consider fire damage a good thing.
