How important is it to burn in a new cpu or gfx card?
important to check stability; More important if you're gonna OC.
I recommend it.
what would be the correct way to do this?
For a desktop user... Pointless..... For me real world mission critcal systems... Super important. we burn all of our nodes, heads, deve, and storage boxes for 48 hours at 100% across all CPU's then ship them to the buyer.
useless for home.
essential for business.
memtest86 for lunch
3dmark for an hour or so if it's got discrete gfx
they don't burn in them at the factory?
what about a ready made pc? does that undergo any burn in?
something like a dell? No wai.
The only thing that needs to burn in is TIM ... everything else is stability testing.
