How Hard is it to Install a New Head Unit?

    I would say it is hard, but then again, I have only installed 4 decks. The problem is getting the dash off correctly without messing anything up. Other than that, if you can follow instructions, it should be rather easy.

    uhh.. i never did an rx-7, but doesnt mazda use ford keys? or is that on newer models only?

    Yeah, it is just ford keys. Now if you have all that bass cannon shit in the back you may have to rewire around it. Can't remember. Just pull the radio and see if it has a standard harness.

    yea, if youhave an amp, you might want to bypass the factory amp

    Idunno anything about the stock stereo.
    I'll take a look today and see if I can do it.

    I don't know if your RX-7 uses Ford keys to remove your old radio, but if it does, you are in luck. Buy the Ford radio removal keys (thats what I call them) at your local radio store. Should cost less than $10. Make sure you buy your wiring harnesses also. Thats about $20-$30. The harnesses are color coded, so you'll have a easy time hookin it up.
