I know it's an older product, but Sapphire Technologies' ATI Radeon 9600XT Ultimate is a damn good card. It's overclocked 50% by the factory and it has a special heatpipe heatsink on it so it doesn't need a loud fan. I run World of Warcraft on it with all the settings maxed out and 2x multisampling to smooth the edges of 3D shapes and it performs quite nicely.

If you absolutely must have 120 frames-per-second and maxed-out video settings then this card won't cut it, but if you can actually tell the difference between 60fps and 120fps then you'd be better off making bank as a pit boss in Vegas instead of playing video games.

It's about equal to a nVidia GeForce 6800 standard, about the same price.

PCI Express, you mean? Yeah, that might be better, assuming you can afford to replace your motherboard and CPU and heatsink too. AGP 8x is still plenty viable if money is tight, e.g. if you're buying other people christmas presents too.
