So i was digging through a closet at home and found a surefire e2d defender, a red light filter (and some pepper spray) that my mom bought at one of those personal defense things. She had never opened it or used it and ended up letting me have it. So about a week ago, the thing stops working. I replaced the batteries, but it still doesn't work. How would I go about getting this thing fixed under warranty?

Bulb is only rated for like 10hrs? or so of life. Use it much? You can try contacting them and letting them know your bulb died prematurely is only used for a couple sets of batteries. I've heard of them shipping new bulbs for your trouble.

Did you look at the lamp assembly directly? Is the filament intact and is the glass clear/blemish-free?

    MN02 Lamp assembly http://www.surefire.com/Extended-Runtime-Lamp
    MN03 Lamp assembly http://www.surefire.com/High-Output-Lamp

SF says they're $18 each ... a $5 membership at opticshq.com will probably save you more than $5, especially if you buy some batteries for it at the same time.

EDIT - Nevermind. No membership savings on lamp assemblies - or anything else Surefire for that matter.

I had a switch that went bad on my E2D. They mailed a new one out no questions asked. Did not even ask for old one.

i've had them replace a lens or three before but i dropped my g3 ones and it busted the lens and lamp and they sent me a lens but told me the lamp wasn't covered under warranty since it's considered a wear & tear item. :squint:
