And I'm not just talking about running for miles and miles. Watching the training regimes of some of these MMA fighters is making me wonder how useful our strength is in a fight if we gas after the first punch. Watch the Ultimate Fighter to see how important conditioning is.

So I basically came up with this set to see how many I can do. It's basically like this:

    - pushups
    - standing high jump (as high as you can)
    - clean & jerk (using half body weight)
    - situps

You do 10 reps of each one after another with zero breaks at all.

After first set through, I was thinking this is cake... too easy
second run through, I was gasping for air but doing ok.
3 set through I was dying for air and very very sluggish.

All in all, it seems my conditioning is only marginally better than an untrained person. I've started to add 10minutes of this at the end of every workout. Havent made it anywhere near 10min yet but I'm liking the challenge so far.

How would you guys do? Think this is worth doing or has this been tried, tested, and failed?

honestly I don't really care about my conditioning. I could run 5km now no problems but I'm not getting into any fights any time soon.

Awful. It was my first time in a few months playing hockey tonight and I was pretty well done after 15 minutes.

Each sport requires different types of conditioning, it's not really a good question.

conditioning shit is cool sometimes I got a prowler and used it religiously for a month but the last couple weeks I've been too busy and I honestly don't miss it. Without any training outside the weight room my conditioning seems to be decent as is so I don't give a damn.

most real fights last about 10 seconds so I wouldn't be too worried about being conditioned like a UFC fighter or boxer or some shit for that reason

its not like you're gonna roll around with a dude on the street or in the club for 15 minutes trying to put him in an armbar
