How long do you big dogs think it would take my skinny ass to have a decent looking set of abs visible?

If I keep a strict diet (low fat, except for my fishoil, some almonds and some of minor fat from lean meats, low fat cottage cheese, whatevers in my protein shakes, etc).

In the gym lifting 3x a week and doing cardio 2x a week.. Generally do abs every other time i'm in the gym (leg raises, decline situps, swiss ball crunches, etc).

I have been hitting the gym with consistency for the last 3-4 months, have been going way longer, but wasn't as consistent.

Should I shift to more cardio? Or just make the diet even more strict? any suggestions appreciated.

The electric BF scale at the gym says i'm at 12% but i don't know if i trust that thing :squint:

Don't want to be 'big'.. I was 190 at one point and didn't really like the maintenance i needed to keep that up and also how much agility / speed i lost.. I play tennis, snowboard, wakeboard, etc.. don't want a bunch of extra weight. Even though I know that is most peoples goals on here, and I respect that, just not for me.

good thing 190 isn't big :hs: . i wish 190 was big, trust me.

but for your purposes, i see why you wouldnt want the extra weight. i'd say stop eating and do 5000 crunches a night

In addition to doing abs every other time at the gym, do sit ups and leglifts every day.

Give it at least another 4 months. I'm just starting to see an outline of abs at 5'8 140, and didn't have anything when I was 120 pounds last year, and I'm pretty certain that I'm under 10% bf (caliper readings put me at under 7%). It takes time to grow the muscle, and there's a limit to how fast muscle can grow. I don't think doing 80 billion extra sets of ab work is going to accelerate that.
