    Public Enemies (2009)

    Director: Michael Mann

Film adaptation of Bryan Burrough's book Public Enemies: America's Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933-43 directed by Michael Mann. The crime drama is set during The Great Depression with the focus on the FBI agent Melvin Purvis' attempt to stop criminals John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, and Pretty Boy Floyd.Christian Bale will play FBI agent Purvis, Johnny Depp will play Dillinger, and Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard will play Dillinger's girlfriend Billie Frechette. Principal photography began in Columbus, Wisconsin on March 17, 2008[1] and will continue in Chicago, Illinois and several places in Wisconsin until the end of June.[2] Some parts of the film will be shot in Crown Point, Indiana, the town where Dillinger escaped from jail.

Lets hope he doesn't fuck it up like Miami Vice. :o

He's directed Collateral, Ali, The Insider, Heat, and The Last of the Mohicans, to name a few. I don't think he's going to disappoint.

Miami Vice was one of the worst movies ever. Your arguement is void. Michael Mann can direct epic movies but also make movies as epicly bad.

watched some of the filming when they were in Indiana, Depp came out and walked around and said hello to everyone, probably when he could have just went straight to his trailer. They were also filming in Chicago a few weeks ago.

Honestly. Collateral and Miami Vice weren't as good as Heat.

But maybe I shouldn't be comparing them. Mann needs another Heat.

I enjoyed Collateral quite a bit, despite Tom Cruise. Heat is stil one of my favorite movies.

I thought Tom Cruise did a great job in Collateral.

Can't hold his personal craziness against his acting skills.

I thought Tom Cruise was excellent in Collateral

hell, the mozambique drill to one of the dudes stealing the briefcase was fucking awesome. I love to replay that scene endlessly.

IMO Michael Mann is a great director. Miami Vice wasn't his greatest movie but I thought it wasn't bad at all.
