Bought a Leupold and Weaver mount off Ebay for 6 or 7 after shipping each
The weaver's rings fit like balls and the finish is way too glossy. The Leupold (pictured on the gun) fits well, it is made of aluminum and has a nice matte finish. However I feel it is a little high and wide.

Also, I have been looking at 6-9'' bipods and am thinking about getting a rock mount. Should I spend the little extra and get a Harris? Is it even worth it?

see-thru rings are a waste, they sit the scope up waaaaaaaay too high plus they look like complete ass. If you want to use irons buy some quick detach rings or something.

What size objective lens are you looking to get? It's hard to know if it looks too high if you don't have the scope on there.

You dont need see through rings. They give a crappy cheek weld unless you have a weird face :o And when will you ever use the irons with the scope on?

for screws the 4 things I have ever seen work are

    1) Soak them in PBblaster (for days until they loosen up) just keep reapplying as always use the right blade that is as thick and wide as the slot.

    2) put the screw driver in and wack it with a hammer sometimes the jolt will loosen it up

    3) 3 words butane pencil torch (and in this case a solder iron might work) just trying to heat the screw expand it and break the lock (be careful if you have used PBblaster it can burn)

    4) the be all and end all tool for this is an impact driver.

and sometimes you can break a screw lose by tightening it a bit before taking it out.

you got a close up of the sight in question, and where the screw is that you are trying to get at?

my front sight I just took off, well to get at the screw in the front sight that was under the actual part used for a sight (as opposed to the base) I took a folded up patch I had leftover from cleaning and puck it on the front sight covering the screw and placed a punch on the cloth and gave it a few firm thumps (it didn't do any damage, but looking back on it I would have WD40/pbblastered it for a bit just to loosen it up and let it slide.

Warne makes some good quick detach rings too, just make sure to get steel bases as the steel dovetails in the rings tend to wear gouges in an aluminum base, which could start to affect zero.

On a lever action or short range gun they are great to have. I had them on my Winchester and a couple times I'd be looking for a whitetail in the distance only to have one jump out within 25 feet.
