How does this look for a workout schedule?

    My goal in this is to slim down, not build muscle mass... obviously i expect some, but id rather lose fat than gain muscle at this point.

    heres what im looking at right now:

    M - run 3 miles
    T - run 1.5 miles then arms/back
    W- run 3 miles
    R - run 1.5 miles then legs/chest/shoulders (light on the legs since running works them already)
    F - run 3 miles
    Sa- run 4 miles
    Su - rest

    currently i run ~3 miles about 4 times a week, but I am trying to up that quite a bit. I run at a track so i get to cool off in between miles. i wanna get down to a 7 minute mile within a month or so, right now i do 8:30.


    my diet will probably consist of mainly salad for lunch and probably something heavier for dinner (somethng meaty, accompanied with a salad)

    its difficult since i eat at a dorm cafeteria.... so my selection is slightly limited.

    any suggestions/improvements?

    edit: oh yeah, and abs every workout day (T,R)

    no, but im trying to lose as much fat as possible. i thought cardio was the best way to do this?

    no, you are on schedule to loose all your muscle ATM
    lift like 4 days a week
    upper lower split or body part split, and Go heavy, do 30 minutes of cardio a day. simple as that, eat correctly aswell, and you should be loosing about 1-2 pounds a week
    RUNNING DOES NOT WORK YOUR FUCKING LEGS THE SAME WAY WEIGHTS DO!!!!!

    I can almost guarantee you will not get through R's workout..and if you do it will be some half-baked shit.

    what kind of split do you suggest? i would prefer body part, not just lower/upper.

    also, i dont want to work such that i am so sore that i cant run. last time i lifted (about a week ago :o) i was too sore to run for the next 3 days.

    last i checked, 6 ft, 230, about 22% BF... that was in august though, and i dont have a scale here (im living in a dorm)
