    So lets say i wanted to start a blogging type of website. How would I do this? I do know some HTML, but I dont think I could generate something professional. So assuming I wanted to hire someone to build it;

    1) whats the best way of finding a reputable designer?
    2) How much would be needed (ballpark) to have it designed and hosted?

    depends on how professional/good you want it to be.

    It wouldn't be outrageous for somebody get ask for a grand to design/code/host (1 year of hosting)

    There's a couple people here on OT that can do all this shit.

    1) Find a hosting company that auto-installs wordpress
    2) Auto-install wordpress
    3) Select theme
    4) start blogging

    WTF?! Seriously?

    Shared hosting = $5/month or so.

    Install Wordpress = FREE. Choose theme, customize to your liking. Or design your own theme.

    ???

    Profit!

    Thousands of dollars to set up.... :rofl: FOR A BLOG SITE?!

    I may not have been clear in what exactly I want. Im looking to design more of a user profile site, where each profile has an embedded forum/blog/Q&A
