i just got my first pair of jeans in a while, what is the best way to wash them?
no they aren't those weird non-wash naked denim things, just regular blue jeans

i'd avoid washing anything of indigo because the color will get washed out, but yeah, inside out and cold

Wear as much as possible without washing (not holding out quite as long as raw denim, but still at least 1-2 months so their color lasts longer) and then wash inside out with cold water and like colors.

i wash mine separate from everything, cold water and a gentle detergent like woolite (unless they are visibly dirty, in which case i use tide, but very little)

Always hang dry unless you don't like the stiff feel. Dryer= unnecessary wear.

Just throw 'em in the washer every 3 months or so. Then hang dry 'em. Because my dryer is broken.

I wear the same pair every day :eek5:

jeans never smell bad, unless you spill food and drinks on them all the time. Underwear, especially boxer briefs, soak up all the otherwise smell-tarnishing taint juice

    god bless

Meh, I get them done for free. I wash them initially to get the excess dye out, from there it's dry clean only.

I wash my jeans after about 3~5 wears, inside out on gentle cycle with dark clothes. I put them in the drier too, on low heat. As you can see, I want my jeans clean and I want them comfortable. As long as it's high quality, I don't need them to be raw denim, Japanese loom, or develop unique "wear pattern".

If your jeans are not raw and are fairly good quality, it won't really fade much after the first wash nor will washing incur significant damage at all. If you have at least 3 pairs of jeans and don't wear jeans everyday, then you would end up washing each pair of jeans less than a dozen times in a whole year. By which time you'll probably be on the lookout to buy new jeans.
