How do you train yourself to be able to squat deeper?

    I started doing box squats today, but that really feels awkward to do and it feels like I'm just falling down onto the bench :hs: plus while I'm doing box squats everyone gives me a big wtf look :rofl: can you guys give me some tips on how to squat deeper?

    I just put a box or something that was below paralell and went down until my ass touched, not rested on it. Plus, I would ask my workout crew if I was down far enough. Eventually, I removed the box because I became familiar with the feeling of low enough.

    i read somewhere else that you aren't supposed to use your quads when you squat, but i can really feel them squeezing when i squat. Any tips on how to not use my quads?

    you can put a rope on the squat rack at the exact level you want your butt to hit and squat until you touch then go up.

    Here's how I got my inflexible 6'3 friend to below parallel.
    Feet shoulder width apart. Pivot so angled out a bit. Hands straight out ahead at shoulder level together. Push your ass backwards. I repeat, push your ass backwards before you descend. Follow the natural curve of descent your ass is already taking you on. Sit as low as you can go for 5 seconds then come up driving your head into your traps and push your hips forward. Repeat for 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps. Eventually you'll be a2g

    I focus on dropping my ass, not my knees. I try to keep my quads out of it during the drop

    You still have not answered whether you are doing high or low bar..and whether it's PL or Olympic..

    But if PL..open up your knees
