im thinking of buying an external harddrive. what is a good recommendation. right now i have about 30 gigs of music and its growing. i need a reliable way to store this music minimizing the risk of losing it all.
    thanks!

Typically I use floppies, its pretty nice since they are portable and all computers have them. Just waiting for a floppy mp3 player. That would be sweet.

I have about 15G of music that lives on my desktop's hard drive and gets backed up to a firewire disk every few days. I also have my entire library on the iPod in the car.

So I can listen to music and podcasts while I drive. I have an adpater that charges it and connects it to an external CD changer input on my headunit for line level sound input. Plus I can control the iPod from the head unit.

I just keep it on my hard drive. I only have like 8GB though. You can always back it up to DVD-+Rs. If you don't want so many DVDs, you can use the double layer ones.
