I read an article about functional training in which it was suggested to try various exercise standing on a stability ball. What the fuck? It even said the trainer could do one arm presses with 100 lb dumbbells while on said stability ball. Double what the fuck? I tried just for shits and giggles and nearly end up with a concussion. I'm calling bullshit unless proven otherwise. It said stability ball too, not a bosu ball. I could see that on a bosu ball, but full on stability ball just seems rediculously impossible.

can anyone tell me how any of this is supposed to work anything but the stupid center of your brain?

    like honestly

    1) you look like a gigantic tattoo'd teenage douche doing them
    2) about a 90% chance you fall and break your prefrontal hippocampic cortex
    3) 100% chance the big guys in the gym laugh at you for trying to squat on a ball with a barbell on your back

    SUCK DICKS SON

this was in no way an attack on the threadstarter (tm)

Other than a balancing exercise I don't really see the purpose... but 135 squats on a ball is damn impressive!

Squats on the ball is a balance exercise more than a strength exercise. I could do squats on the ball long before I was doing weighted squats.
