I think raw broccoli tastes horrible, but I eat it anyway because apparently it's just about the greatest vegetable around. Anyone have any healthy recipes to get rid of its smell/taste/texture?

The problem with most recipes - I mean, I've certainly had good-tasting broccoli recipes before - is that they boil/steam the broccoli, which probably gets rid of a lot of its nutritive value, and that these recipes usually drown everything in butter/margarine, which is useless fat. I tried doing a broccoli+peas+walnuts+lemon+olive oil stir fry, and it still tasted terrible (but slightly less so :coolugh: )

    So, any ideas?

The only way I can eat it is raw and only the top part. I can't stand the stem.

i've heard that steaming broccoli gets rid of some of its nutritional value as well (could be wrong)

you could always drink the steamed water after you're done. :dunno:
