How do you know when fish oil caps are off?

    I just picked up a bottle of NOW brand..never bought them before. They're pretty stinky. I always thought the caps weren't supposed to smell..

    Mine have a faint smell but nothing off-putting. Which kind of fish oil is it? A mixture, or did you get cod liver oil straight?

    they don't smell if they're enteric coated

    mixture, says it's primarily derived from sardines, anchovies and mackerel. I don't mind the smell, I just want to make sure that I didn't get ripped off.

    NOW is a reliable brand, I wouldn't worry about it. Do they still look clear? The only time I would worry is if they look cloudy.

    +1 No fishy breath/burps with enteric coated ones.
